June 3, 2008 Hong Kong
We are delighted to invite you to participate in the above conference. This conference is an initiative of the Electronic Resources Academic Library Link (ERALL) project, and is organized by the City University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. ERALL is a consortium formed by the eight members of the Joint University Librarians Advisory Committee (JULAC - i.e. the eight Hong Kong university libraries). The consortium purchases E-Books for shared and perpetual access among the eight member libraries. The conference which marks the 40th anniversary of JULAC will be held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
We have finalized the conference program, which features 20 paper presentations in four themes, 1) Users and the Print to E-book Continuum, 2) Collection Development, 3) Consortial Purchasing, and 4) E-book Publishing and Trends. We are happy to have invited Mr. Tom Sanville, Executive Director of OhioLINK, and Mr. Andrew Wells, University Librarian of the University of New South Wales and President of the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) as the keynote speakers. The presenters are practicing librarians with E-book research and experiences, consortium leaders from several Asian countries and leading E-book publishers. There is a Pre-conference Seminar with free admission on June 2. Please visit the conference website for more details.
You are cordially invited to attend this conference and help to distribute this announcement to members of your library association. As space is limited, registration will close on May 5 or once the maximum capacity is reached.
For further information, please feel free to contact Ms Diana Chan at dianac@cityu.edu.hk. We look forward to meeting you at the conference.
Sincerely,
Prof. Steve Ching and Dr. Colin Storey Chairs, Organizing Committee City University of Hong Kong & The Chinese University of Hong Kong |
